Sun Shengnan ( Chinese 孙胜男 ; born January 21, 1987 in Beijing ) is a former Chinese tennis player .
Career
Shengnan, who preferred hard courts according to the ITF , began playing tennis at the age of nine. From 2002 she played at ITF tournaments in her Chinese homeland.
She developed into a very successful double player. In 2007, when she took part in a Grand Slam tournament for the first time , she stood alongside Sun Tiantian in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open . They reached the second round of the French Open that same year . Shengnan has won 26 ITF tournaments in doubles and six in singles in her career .
In September 2007 she won her only title on the WTA Tour . At Wismilak International in Bali, she and her doubles partner Ji Chunmei defeated the pairing Jill Craybas / Natalie Grandin 6: 3 and 6: 2 in the final . She then achieved her best position in the world rankings with rank 50 .
After her quarter-finals at the Challenger tournament in Nanjing in November 2013, Shengnan did not play a match on the professional tour.
