Scheepers, who preferred hard courts, won a total of 12 singles and 20 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit . In 2009 she made it into the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time at the Australian Open ; however, she lost her first round match against Dominika Cibulková with 0: 6 and 0: 6.
On September 24, 2011, she finally won her first WTA title. In the final in Guangzhou , she defeated Magdaléna Rybáriková 6-2, 6-2. Her first double title on the WTA Tour followed in May 2013 ; at the side of the already 42-year-old Japanese Kimiko Date-Krumm , she won in three sets the clay court tournament in Strasbourg, which is in preparation for the French Open, with a final victory over the doubles Cara Black and Marina Eraković .
Between 2002 and 2015, she played 19 games for the South African Fed Cup team . She won twelve of her 18 singles and all five doubles games.
In May 2015 she ended her career and became a trainer.
