The WTA Championships 2010 (also known as Sony Ericsson Championships - Doha 2010 ) were a women's hard court tournament and the most important tennis tournament of the year after the four Grand Slam tournaments . The tournament took place from October 26th to 31st, 2010 in Doha , Qatar . The tennis championships of the WTA Tour in women singles and doubles were held for the third and last time in the Khalifa International Tennis Complex. From 2011 to 2013 the event will take place in the Sinan Erdem Dome in Istanbul, Turkey .

The defending champions were US American Serena Williams in singles and Spanish Nuria Llagostera Vives and María José Martínez Sánchez in doubles .

Kim Clijsters won the individual final against Caroline Wozniacki 6: 3, 5: 7 and 6: 3. In doubles, the pairing Gisela Dulko / Flavia Pennetta defeated Květa Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik 7: 5 and 6: 4 in the final .
