Vladimíra Uhlířová (born May 4, 1978 in České Budějovice , then ČSSR ) is a former Czech tennis player .
Career
Uhlířová, who preferred clay courts according to the ITF profile, started tennis at the age of seven and turned pro in August 2002.
She won five WTA tournaments and 17 ITF tournaments in doubles. She reached her highest ranking in the double world rankings in October 2007 with 18th place. In the same year she was together with Ágnes Szávay from Hungary in the semifinals of the US Open . It should remain her best result in a Grand Slam tournament .
After a long break after the 2013 Wimbledon Championships , she returned to the tour for the European clay court season. Uhlířová, who only competed in doubles from February 2013 , suffered first-round defeats in 2014 in Madrid , Rome and Strasbourg . The same thing happened to her at the French Open . After that, she only competed once, in 2015 at the French Open , where she was eliminated in the first round alongside Elena Bogdan .
