Indian Harbor Beach is a city in Brevard County in the US state of Florida with 8225 inhabitants (as of 2010).
geography
Indian Harbor Beach is located between the Indian River (part of the Intracoastal Waterway ) and the Atlantic Ocean on Florida's east coast. The city borders the cities of Melbourne , Indialantic and Satellite Beach and is about 55 km south of Titusville and 100 km southeast of Orlando .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 8,225 inhabitants were distributed over 4,899 households. The population density was 1495.5 inhabitants / km². 94.7% of the population identified themselves as whites , 0.9% as African American , 0.2% as Indians and 1.7% as Asian Americans . 0.7% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.8% to several ethnic groups. 4.8% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under the age of 18 and 39.2% of all households lived in 20.3% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 60.4% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.14 people and the average family size was 2.68 people.
18.0% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 17.7% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.2% were 40 to 59 years old, and 33.2% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 50 years. 48.2% of the population were male and 51.8% were female.
The median annual income was $ 58,750, with 8.8% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the first language of 96.19% of the population, 2.25% spoke Spanish and 1.56% had another mother tongue.
