South Patrick Shores is a census-designated place (CDP) in Brevard County in the US state of Florida with 5875 inhabitants (as of 2010).

South Patrick Shores is located between the Banana River and the Atlantic Ocean on Florida's east coast. The CDP is about 40 km south of Titusville and about 90 km east of Orlando . He is from the Florida State Roads A1A , 404 and 513 crosses or touches.

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 5875 inhabitants were distributed over 2939 households. The population density was 1587.8 inh / km². 92.8% of the population identified themselves as whites, 1.4% as African American , 0.5% as Indians and 1.0% as Asian Americans . 2.1% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.3% to several ethnic groups. 5.1% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 35.1% of all households lived in 22.1% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 64.3% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.23 people and the average family size was 2.74 people.

19.3% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 18.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 33.6% were 40 to 59 years old, and 28.3% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 49 years. 49.9% of the population were male and 50.1% were female.

The median annual income was $ 56,061, with 13.2% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 94.31% of the population, 3.04% spoke Spanish and 2.65% had another mother tongue.
