Palm Shores is a city in Brevard County in the US state of Florida with 900 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Palm Shores borders directly on the city of Melbourne and is around 35 km south of Titusville and around 80 km southeast of Orlando .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 900 inhabitants were distributed over 443 households. The population density was 692.3 inh / km². 84.4% of the population identified themselves as whites, 6.8% as African American , 0.1% as Indians and 2.8% as Asian Americans . 1.2% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 4.7% to several ethnic groups. 7.2% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 26.2% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 28.7% of all households. 61.7% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.27 people and the average family size was 2.91 people.

21.6% of the population were younger than 20 years, 18.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 35.4% were 40 to 59 years old, and 24.8% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 47 years. 49.6% of the population were male and 50.4% were female.

The median annual income was $ 62,083, with 11.2% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 96.61% of the population, 2.80% spoke Spanish and 0.59% spoke Thai .
