Melbourne Village is a city in Brevard County in the US state of Florida with 662 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

The city is bordered by the cities of Melbourne and West Melbourne . Melbourne Village is around 50 km south of Titusville and around 90 km southeast of Orlando .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 662 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 330 households. The population density was 441.3 inh / km². 96.7% of the population identified themselves as whites , 0.2% as African American , 0.6% as Indians and 1.7% as Asian Americans . 0.9% said they belonged to another ethnic group. 3.3% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 44.9% of all households lived in 16.3% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 68.4% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.20 and the average family size was 2.59.

14.5% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 12.4% were 20 to 39 years old, 33.8% were 40 to 59 years old, and 39.4% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 55 years. 49.2% of the population were male and 50.8% were female.

The median annual income was $ 66,607, with 9.4% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 96.98% of the population, 2.38% spoke Spanish and 0.64% spoke Italian .

West Melbourne is affected by US Highway 192 ( SR 500 ). The Melbourne International Airport is located just north of the city.

The crime rate in 2010 was 72 points (US average: 266 points) in the low range. There were two break-ins and eight thefts.
