Bibiane Schoofs (born May 13, 1988 in Rhenen , formerly Bibiane Weijers ) is a Dutch tennis player .

Career

Schoofs, who started tennis at the age of six, prefers clay courts. She mainly plays in tournaments of the ITF Women's Circuit , where she has already won eight singles and 17 doubles titles.

In 2003 and 2004, she played a tournament on the ITF Women's Circuit, but was eliminated in the first round. From 2005 she became a professional player and has already played ten tournaments this year. In her first year as a professional, she was already in the final of a double competition three times and was able to win the tournament in Tucumán with her Argentine partner Agustina Lepore . Schoofs won her first individual title in 2010 at the US $ 10,000 tournament in Enschede , where she beat the German Nicola Geuer in two sets in the final.

In 2012 she competed in all four Grand Slam tournaments in the qualification. At the Australian Open she won the first round against Jaroslawa Schwedowa 6: 4, 3: 6 and 11: 9 before losing to Irina Chromatschowa 2: 6 and 4: 6. At the French Open she lost to Oqgul Omonmurodova in the first qualifying round with 7: 6, ⁵ , 5: 7 and 5: 7. In Wimbledon she reached the third round of qualification with victories over Dia Ewtimowa and Zheng Saisai , but failed to move into the main field against Mirjana Lučić-Baroni with 5: 7 and 4: 6. At the US Open 2012 / women's singles , she failed in the first round of qualification to Catalina Castaño with 4: 6 and 4: 6.

2014 she performed with Protected ranking in the qualification for the US Open , but lost in the first round of qualifying against Anna-Lena Friedsam with 0: 6 and 3: 6th

In February 2017 she won the ITF tournament in Altenkirchen . At the L&T Mumbai Open , she won her first double title on the WTA Challenger Tour in November 2017 .

Schoofs played for the Dutch Fed Cup team in 2012 and 2013 . In a total of nine games, including five singles, she was victorious in two singles and one double.

In the 1st tennis Bundesliga she played for the Lintorfer TC in 2005 and for the TC Moers 08 in 2012 . In 2015 she competed in the 2nd Bundesliga tennis as a top player for RTHC Bayer Leverkusen .
