Kimberley Zimmermann (born November 9, 1995 ) is a Belgian tennis player .

Career

Zimmermann started playing tennis at the age of six and her preferred surface is the hard court. She mostly plays on the ITF Women's Circuit , where she has so far won 13 tournaments in doubles and two in singles.

Zimmermann played her first tournament as a professional tennis player in July 2010 in Brussels, and in August 2011 she reached her first quarter-finals in a $ 10,000 tournament in Westende. After that she was placed in the world rankings for the first time. In July 2012, she reached the round of 16 in a $ 25,000 tournament in Rebecq. In May 2014 she was able to reach the semi-finals in singles at the tournament in Tarsus, Turkey, where she lost to Melis Sezer 6: 7 ⁶ and 1: 6, but won her first doubles title with Anita Husarić . In 2015 she reached the quarter-finals in Horb and the round of 16 at the Westende tournament, which made her the first time among the top 800 in the individual world rankings. In doubles, she was able to win another three doubles titles in the same year.

2016 achieved Zimmermann their best results to date in the individual, as they at the tournament in Velenje and the ITF Future North reached in each case the semi-finals and their first in the tournament in Brussels final, which they with 2: 6 against the Australian: 6 and 3 Ellen Perez lost .
