Saint-Amand-Longpré is a French commune with 1,224 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loir-et-Cher in the region Center-Val de Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of Vendôme and is part of the canton of Montoire-sur-le-Loir (until 2015: canton of Saint-Amand-Longpré ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Amandinois .

geography

Saint-Amand-Longpré is about 41 kilometers northeast of Tours and about 26 kilometers west-northwest of Blois . Saint-Amand-Longpré is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Huisseau-en-Beauce in the north, Nourray in the northeast, Lancé in the east, Gombergean in the southeast, Saint-Gourgon in the south, Villechauve and Authon in the southwest, Prunay-Cassereau in the west and Ambloy in the Northwest.

The National Route 10 runs through the municipality .

history

From 1892 the community was initially called Saint-Amand-de-Vendôme . In 1965, the town of Longpré was incorporated and the name Saint-Amand-Longpré was formed.
