Administratively, it is assigned to the canton of Le Perche (until 2015: canton of Morée ) and the arrondissement of Vendôme . The inhabitants are called Bucilliens .

Busloup is about 36 kilometers north-northwest of Blois in the Le Perche countryside . Busloup is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Ville-aux-Clercs in the north and west, Saint-Hilaire-la-Gravelle in the north-east, Fréteval in the east, Pezou in the south and south-east and Lisle in the south-west.
