Administratively, it is assigned to the canton of Le Perche (until 2015: canton of Morée ) and the arrondissement of Vendôme . The inhabitants are called Villauclergois .

Brévainville is about 41 kilometers north of Blois in the Le Perche countryside . Brévainville is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Romilly-sur-Aigre in the north, Cloyes-les-Trois-Rivières with Charray in the northeast, Ouzouer-le-Doyen in the east, Moisy in the southeast, Morée in the south, and Saint-Hilaire-la-Gravelle in the West and south-west and Saint-Jean-Froidmentel to the west and north-west.
