Areines is a French municipality with 616 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Loir-et-Cher in the region Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Vendôme and the canton of Vendôme (until 2015: canton of Vendôme-2 ). The inhabitants are called Areinesais .

geography

Areines is located about two kilometers east of the city center of Vendôme on the Loir , as well as its tributary Houzée . Areines is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Ouen in the north and north-west, Meslay in the north and north-east, Coulommiers-la-Tour in the east and south-east and Vendôme in the south and west.
