The Hengqin Life WTA Elite Trophy Zhuhai 2017 was a tennis tournament for women hosted by the WTA as part of the WTA Tour 2017 and the second season-end tournament alongside the WTA Championships 2017 .

The tournament, which was held for the first time in 2015 as the successor to the WTA Tournament of Champions , took place from October 31 to November 5, 2017 in the Chinese city of Zhuhai .

Prize money and points

The total prize money was 2.28 million US dollars. In doubles, the prize money mentioned was paid out per team. World ranking points were not awarded in doubles.

qualification

Eligible players were the eleven tennis players ranked 9th to 19th in the individual world rankings on October 23, 2017 . Since the ninth placed Johanna Konta could not take part due to injury, there was a shift to places 10 to 20. Because the players marked in red on the table canceled, the next-ranked players moved up. A wild card was also given to Peng Shuai .
