The Hobart International 2017 was a women's tennis tournament of the WTA Tour in 2017 . The hard court tournament in the International category took place in Hobart from January 8-14, 2017 , at the same time as the Apia International in Sydney .

The defending champions were Alizé Cornet in singles and the pairing Han Xinyun / Christina McHale in doubles.
