The Hobart International 2016 was a women's tennis tournament of the 2016 WTA Tour . The hard court tournament in the International category took place in Hobart from January 11th to 17th, 2016 , at the same time as the Apia International in Sydney .

The defending champions were Heather Watson in singles and the pairing Kiki Bertens / Johanna Larsson in doubles.
