The Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open 2016 was a women's tennis tournament in Hong Kong as part of the WTA Tour 2016 . The hard court tournament in the International category took place from October 10 to 16, 2016 at the same time as the Generali Ladies Linz 2016 and the Tianjin Open 2016 .

The defending champion in singles was Jelena Janković , in doubles it was the pairing of Alizé Cornet and Jaroslawa Schwedowa .
