The Qatar Total Open 2016 was a Premier 5 women's tennis tournament as part of the WTA Tour 2016 . The hard court tournament took place from February 22nd to 27th, 2016 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha , the capital of Qatar ; it was the fourteenth edition of the tournament.

The qualification for the Qatar Total Open 2016 took place from February 19th to 20th, 2016. Eight places were played that allowed participation in the main draw of the tournament.
