The TEB BNP Paribas İstanbul Cup 2016 was a women's tennis tournament in Istanbul . The clay court tournament in the International category was part of the WTA Tour 2016 and took place from April 18 to 24, 2016.

Due to the tense security situation caused by the last terrorist attacks in Turkey ( bomb attack in Ankara on February 17, 2016 , bomb attack in Ankara on March 13, 2016 , bomb attack in Istanbul on March 19, 2016 ), the WTA had given the reported players permission to withdraw from the tournament without being penalized. In addition, the players were given the opportunity to register for another tournament at short notice.
