The Kremlin Cup 2016 was a women's tennis tournament in the Olimpijski in Moscow . The hard court tournament in the Premier category is part of the WTA Tour 2016 and took place from October 17-22, 2016, parallel to the BGL BNP Paribas Luxembourg Open 2016 .

The defending champions were Svetlana Kuznetsova in singles and Darja Kassatkina and Jelena Wesnina in doubles .

By successfully defending her title, Svetlana Kuznetsova secured last place in the year-end tournament of the eight best players of the season, the WTA Championships 2016 .

qualification

The qualification for the Kremlin Cup 2016 took place from October 15th to 17th, 2016. Four places were played that allowed participation in the main draw of the tournament.
