The Citi Open 2016 was a women's tennis tournament of the WTA Tour 2016 in Washington DC The hard court tournament in the International category took place from July 18 to 24, 2016.

The defending champions were Sloane Stephens in singles and Belinda Bencic / Kristina Mladenovic in doubles . The Belgian Yanina Wickmayer won this time in both singles and doubles on the side of Romanian Monica Niculescu .
