Katalin Marosi (born November 12, 1979 in Gheorgheni , Romania ) is a former Hungarian tennis player .
Career
Marosi, who according to the ITF prefers hard courts, learned to play tennis at the age of five and a half. She moved to Hungary with her family at the age of nine and became a professional tennis player in 1995. She has already won 13 singles and 28 doubles titles at the ITF Women's Circuit . Since 1997 she has also played for the Hungarian Fed Cup team , winning 15 of her 28 Fed Cup games (double: 11: 8).
At the Australian Open she reached the second round of the doubles competition in 2000. In the same year she was able to advance to the quarterfinals at the Olympic Games in Sydney .
In May 2013 she stood at the side of Darija Jurak from Croatia, her regular playing partner from June 2012 to May 2013, at the WTA tournament in Oeiras in the double finals.
Marosi, who no longer played a tournament from the US Open in August 2013, was no longer listed in the world rankings in 2014. She married during this time and gave birth to a son.
In April 2015 she returned to the tour at the WTA tournament in Katowice . In 2015 she competed in six other tournaments in doubles, in 2016 in two tournaments.
