Yekaterina Yevgenevna Lopes ( Russian Екатерина Евгеньевна Лопес ; born December 18, 1987 as Yekaterina Iwanowa in Moscow , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Russian tennis player .

Career

Lopes, who preferred clay courts, won five individual tournaments on the ITF Women's Circuit : 2005 in Bucharest , 2008 in Mestre , 2009 in Brno and in 2014 a small tournament each on Mallorca and the Azores. Between 2005 and 2009 six ITF doubles titles were added, making a total of eleven.

In 2008 she reached the quarter-finals of the WTA tournament in Barcelona . Lopes was able to qualify for the first time in 2008 for the Australian Open , but failed there in the first round; The same thing happened to her at the 2010 French Open .

She played her last match on the women's tour on September 1, 2014 at an ITF tournament in Moscow.
