Samantha Reeves (born January 17, 1979 in Redwood City ) is a former American tennis player .

Career

Reeves began playing tennis at the age of eight. At the end of 1997 she was tested positive for nandrolone during a doping control , but the International Tennis Federation refrained from imposing a sanction because the investigation and publication of the case was sufficient punishment.

In her professional career, she won two double titles on the WTA Tour as well as two singles and six double titles on the ITF Women's Circuit . In 2003 she made it into the third round of the Wimbledon Championships ; it was her best result in a Grand Slam tournament .

Her last match on the professional tour she played in May 2006 at an ITF tournament in Charlottesville .
