Milagros Sequera (born September 30, 1980 in San Felipe ) is a former Venezuelan tennis player .

Career

Sequera started tennis at the age of seven, preferring the hard court. In 1994 she played her first ITF tournament and in 1999 she became a professional player.

She won her first WTA title in March 2004 at the Abierto Mexicano Telcel in Acapulco in doubles. With her partner Lisa McShea she defeated the pairing Olga Blahotová / Gabriela Navrátilová 2: 6, 7: 6 5 , 6: 4. In the same year she also won the tournaments in Strasbourg and 's-Hertogenbosch with MacShea .

In singles, she won a single WTA tournament, in 2007 the Grand Prix SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem in Fès . There she defeated Aleksandra Wozniak 6: 1, 6: 3.

For the Venezuelan Fed Cup team , she played 47 games between 1998 and 2008, of which she won 36.

Personal

On December 29, 2009, Milagros Sequera married the former Australian professional tennis player Stephen Huss near Melbourne .
