Claudine Schaul (born August 20, 1983 in Luxembourg ) is a former Luxembourgish tennis player .

Career

Claudine Schaul, who started tennis at the age of four, prefers to play on hard courts.

In her professional career, she won one title each in singles and doubles on the WTA Tour . She also won four ITF tournaments in singles and three in doubles.

At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens she competed in singles and doubles. She lost her first round match in the singles against Daniela Hantuchová with 1: 6 and 1: 6. Even in doubles it was over after the first encounter. At the side of Anne Kremer , she lost to Catalina Castaño and Fabiola Zuluaga from Colombia 6: 7, 7 , 6: 2 and 7: 9.

She played her last match on the professional tour in August 2013 at an ITF tournament in Hechingen, Baden-Württemberg .

She continues to compete for the Luxembourg Fed Cup team , for example in February 2019, when she recorded a win and a defeat in doubles. Schaul's Fed Cup record since 1998 shows 42 wins and 43 losses. In 2003 she was elected Luxembourg Sportswoman of the Year .
