Vésteinn Hafsteinsson (born December 12, 1960 in Selfoss ) is a former Icelandic athlete and four-time Olympian (1984, 1988, 1992, 1996).

Career

The discus thrower took part in the Olympic Games four times.

Doping ban 1984

At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , he was disqualified after a drug test positive for nandrolone and then banned for two years. In 1988 and 1996 he dropped out of the qualification. He achieved his best result at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona , where he finished eleventh.
