In the first edition in 2009, the ten best placed (individual world ranking list) tournament winners took part who were not qualified for the WTA Tour Championships and had won at least one tournament in the International category . The organizer distributed a wildcard each for the other two starting places . In addition, a substitute player was invited. First, the group winners were determined in four groups of three players each according to the round robin principle . The first four played the two semi-finals, the winners of the final. A special feature of this tournament was that 3rd place was played out.

From 2010 onwards only the six best placed (conditions as in 2009) tournament winners were invited. There were still wild cards for two starting places, plus a substitute player. The four best-placed players were seeded, the winner was determined in the knockout system .
