The Garanti Koza Tournament of Champions 2014 (also known as the International Tournament of Champions ) was a women's tennis invitation tournament, which was held as an individual competition on hard court from October 27 to November 2, 2014 in Sofia in the hall. The tournament, which is part of the WTA Tour 2014 , was held for the sixth time and made a guest appearance in the Bulgarian capital for the third time. The main sponsor in 2014 was again the internationally active construction company Garanti Koza .
qualification
Qualification mode
Eight women were invited to the tournament who had to meet the following requirements:
- For the six best-placed players in the world rankings (as of October 20, 2014) who won at least one of 31 tournaments in the International category (prize money: 250,000 US dollars) of the WTA Tour in 2014 and who did not take part in the 2014 WTA Championships in Singapore , participation was compulsory.
- The tournament management of Sofia was allowed to award two wildcards to players who had participated in at least one tournament of the WTA Tour in the International category in 2014 and did not play in Singapore until October 9, 2014 . If one of the two players had not accepted the wildcard, the right to start would have been transferred to the two runners-up in the world rankings.
- If both players, who were nominated as reservists in Singapore, had also qualified for Sofia, they would have been free to play there, even if they had already played in Singapore.
Qualification Ranking
Final score after 31 tournaments:
1 Simona Halep , Eugenie Bouchard , Caroline Wozniacki and Ana Ivanović were qualified for the WTA Championships 2014 in Singapore and therefore not eligible to play in Sofia.
2 Li Na would have qualified for Singapore ; she ended her career in September 2014.
3 Ekaterina Makarova qualified as a substitute for the 2014 WTA Championships and also took her opportunity to participate in Sofia.
4 Even Samantha Stosur was ;, qualified for Sofia she did not take her right to start but because of an injury true.

Competition mode
In the round-robin phase (engl. Round Robin) played four players in two groups, each to each. The top two in each group qualified for the semi-finals, which were played according to the knockout system . The winner of one group played against the second of the other group, the winners of both games played the final.
