The Western & Southern Open 2014 was a tennis tournament of the WTA Tour 2014 , which was held from August 11th to 17th, 2014 in Mason near Cincinnati .

Last year's winner in singles was Wiktoryja Asaranka , in doubles Hsieh Su-wei / Peng Shuai were the defending champions.

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 56 players, that of the double competition consisted of 28 pairings. The eight top seeded players in singles and the four top seeded pairings in doubles each received a bye to the second round.
