The WTA Stuttgart (officially: Porsche Tennis Grand Prix ) is an indoor tournament of the WTA , which is held in the Porsche-Arena and in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle . The tennis tournament, which with prize money of 693,900 US dollars belongs to the third-highest category of the WTA Tour , is the successor to the competition previously held in Filderstadt and thus one of the most traditional tournaments in the women's tour . The organizer is Dr. Ing.hc F. Porsche AG . Markus Günthardt has been the tournament director since 2005 , and Anke Huber is the sporting director .

As part of a comprehensive reform of the WTA Tour, the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in the Porsche Arena has been held on clay since 2009 (previously hard court) and already in April.

Prize money

As part of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix , prize money of 731,000 US dollars will be distributed. The winner of the women's singles will receive a check for US $ 100,000 and a Porsche sports car.

Awards

In 2007, 2008, 2010 to 2012 and 2014 to 2017, the tournament was voted the most popular tournament in the Premier category on the WTA Tour by the players .
