Hermann Agathon Niemeyer
Hermann Agathon Niemeyer (born January 5, 1802 in Halle , † December 6, 1851 in Halle ) was a Protestant theologian .
Hermann Agathon Niemeyer, the youngest son of August Hermann Niemeyer , studied in Halle, where he became a member of the fraternity source society in 1819 . in 1825 he completed his habilitation at the Halle theological faculty and was appointed to Jena as an associate professor of theology in 1826.
In 1829 he returned to Halle as professor and director of the Francke Foundations . In this position he achieved special merits through the establishment of the secondary school for girls and through the reorganization of the pedagogy .
In 1848 he was a member of the Prussian National Assembly .
Niemeyer died on December 6, 1851. His grave is on Halle's Stadtgottesacker (inner field I).
