Amphoe Hua Hin ( Thai : อำเภอ หัวหิน , pronunciation: [ ampʰɤː hǔa hǐn ]) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan . The province of Prachuap Khiri Khan is the southernmost province of the central region of Thailand .

Hua Hin is also a well-known seaside resort in Thailand .

geography

The city is located 185 kilometers southwest of Bangkok in the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan on the Gulf of Thailand .

Neighboring Amphoe and Areas: in the north is Amphoe Cha-am in the province of Phetchaburi , in the south is Amphoe Pranburi in the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan. To the east is the Gulf of Thailand and to the west is the Tanintharyi Division of Myanmar .

economy

Hua Hin has become one of the most important bathing spots in Thailand in recent years . Vacationers from Europe and Asia make up the largest proportion of vacationers. International hotel chains have recognized the tourist potential of Hua Hin and are building or planning large hotel properties.

history

In 1932, Hua Hin was still part of Pran Buri County. In 1949, Hua Hin was raised to a district within Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. After the construction of the southern railway line, Hua Hin became one of the most popular beach resorts in Thailand.
