Aleksandra Olsza (born December 8, 1977 in Katowice ) is a former Polish tennis player .

Career

Olsza triumphed in the finals of the jury singles and doubles of the Wimbledon Championships in 1995 . In individual struck Tamarine Tanasugarn with 7: 5 and 7: 6 and doubles alongside Cara Black pairing Trudi Musgrave / Jodi Richardson with 6: 0 and 7: 6

During her professional career she was able to win a single and a double title of the ITF Women's Circuit .

For her country of birth, she took part in the 1996 Summer Olympics in singles and doubles in Atlanta . Only very shortly before the first round match in the individual, the originally drawn opponent withdrew her participation and was replaced by Virág Csurgó . For their part, she only had five minutes to appear on the pitch, ready to play. Olsza lost this encounter 2-6 and 5-7. In doubles she played alongside Magdalena Grzybowska . In the first round they lost against the French pairing Mary Pierce / Nathalie Tauziat with 2: 6, 6: 3 and 0: 6.

From 1996 to 1999 she played for the Polish Fed Cup team , for which she won 16 of her 25 games.

After an elbow injury in 2000, she ended her career.
