Dominique Monami (born May 31, 1973 in Verviers ) is a former Belgian tennis player . She has been the team leader of the Belgian Fed Cup team since 2017 .

Career

She won four WTA tournaments in singles and doubles, mostly as Dominique Van Roost .

At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney she won the bronze medal in women's doubles with doubles partner Els Callens . In the semifinals, they were defeated by the American siblings Serena and Venus Williams . In singles she reached the quarter-finals in Sydney, which she lost to Monica Seles .

From 1991 to 2000 she played for the Belgian Fed Cup team . Your personal record: 17: 7 wins in singles and 5: 4 in doubles.

In 1998 Dominique Van Roost was voted Sportswoman of the Year in Belgium .

In 1995 she married her coach Bart Van Roost, from whom she has since divorced.
