Alexandra Fusai (born November 22, 1973 in Saint-Cloud ) is a former French tennis player .

Career

Fusai started playing tennis at the age of nine.

In her career she won twelve double titles on the WTA Tour , eight of them alongside Nathalie Tauziat . There were also six singles and two doubles titles at tournaments of the ITF Women's Circuit .

However, she celebrated her greatest successes at the French Open , where she reached the semi-finals in doubles in 1997, 1999 and 2000. In the other Grand Slam tournaments she could also do well in the doubles competition; at the Australian Open and the US Open , she was once in the quarter-finals. In September 1998 she achieved her best position in the double world rankings with position 6 .

In 1997 Fusai won the Fed Cup team competition with the French team ; she was able to contribute six wins in her eight games for the team.

She married David Crochu on July 13, 2002, and their son Oscar was born on December 7, 2003. Fusai's last encounter on the women's tour was in April 2003 at the WTA tournament in Budapest .
