Rita Grande started playing tennis at the age of nine and was cared for by her brother Vincenzo.
In her career she won a total of three singles and five doubles titles on the WTA Tour , as well as one tournament victory in singles and three successes in doubles at ITF level.
For the Italian Fed Cup team , she played 19 games between 1994 and 2003; their record shows five wins in eight defeats in singles and one victory and five defeats in doubles.
1996 Grande participated in the Olympics in part in Atlanta. In 2004 she was in the semi-finals of the mixed competition at the Australian Open .
She played her last match on the professional tour in August 2005 at the hard court tournament in New Haven , where she failed in qualifying against Květa Peschke .
