Elena Pampoulova ( Bulgarian Елена Пампулова , also Elena Wagner, Elena Pampoulova-Bergomi; born May 17, 1972 in Sofia ) is a former Bulgarian tennis player .

Career

In her tennis career, Pampoulova won one single and three double titles on the WTA Tour . There were also 12 singles and eight doubles titles at ITF tournaments.

From 1988 to 1992 she played for the Bulgarian Fed Cup team (six wins, seven losses). From 1997 to 1999 she played for the German Fed Cup team ; their Fed Cup record for the German team is even, eight wins are compared to eight defeats.

At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona , she competed for Bulgaria.

Personal

On July 11, 2006, Elena Pampoulova married her long-time friend Christian Bergomi. The couple live in Switzerland, where Elena now works as an investment banker. Their son Alex was born in 2008.
