Barbara Paulus (born September 1, 1970 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian tennis player .

Career

In 1985 she played her first tennis tournament on an international level after training at the performance center in Südstadt .

She won six tournaments on the WTA Tour in her career , made it to a final twelve times and was listed in the top 10 of the world rankings for the first time on November 18, 1996.

From 1989 to 1997 she played for the Austrian Fed Cup team , for which you get nine wins (with 13 defeats).

In 1998 she resigned from professional tennis because of problems with her wrists and elbows. In 2001 she dared a comeback, but left it at one try (first round defeat).

Barbara Paulus is married to the table tennis player Martin Doppler and has one son.
