Anna-Maria ("Sandra") Cecchini (born February 27, 1965 in Bologna ) is a former Italian tennis player .

Career

Sandra Cecchini won a total of 23 titles on the WTA Tour , twelve of them in singles and eleven in doubles. She celebrated 21 of these tournament victories on clay. She also reached 17 other finals (eleven in doubles), only three of which were not played on clay.

She won most of her double titles alongside the Argentinean Patricia Tarabini . She celebrated her best performance in Grand Slam tournaments at the French Open , where she made it to the quarter-finals in 1985 and even made it to the semi-finals in doubles in 1993. Her best placements on the world rankings were 15th in singles and 22nd in doubles.

In the Fed Cup , Cecchini played 33 games for Italy , of which she won 16.
