Catherine Tanvier (born May 28, 1965 in Toulouse , Occitania ) is a former French tennis player .

Career

Her highest place in the world rankings was 20th in singles and 16th in doubles. She won one tournament in singles and nine in doubles. Her greatest successes in the Grand Slam tournaments were reaching the round of 16 at the French Open 1983 , Wimbledon Championships 1985 , French Open 1988 and the US Open from 1989 to 1991 in singles as well as reaching the semi-finals at the French Open 1983 in doubles .

In 1982 she won the women's singles competition at the Wimbledon Championships with a win against Helena Suková from what was then Czechoslovakia .

She won ten titles, nine of them in doubles.
