Mercedes Paz (born June 27, 1966 in Tucumán ) is a former Argentine tennis player .

Career

Mercedes Paz won her first doubles title in Tokyo in her debut year as a professional player in October 1984. She had previously participated with the Argentine team at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles, where she lost her first match in singles.

In her tennis career she won a total of three singles and 20 doubles titles on the WTA Tour . At the end of her career, she also played on the ITF Women's Circuit , where she was able to celebrate another five double titles.

In 1997 she was in the final of the mixed competition at the US Open , which she lost at the side of Pablo Albano against Manon Bollegraf and Rick Leach 6: 3, 5: 7, 6: 7 3 .

From 1985 to 1998 she was part of the Argentine Fed Cup team , for which she played 33 games, of which she won 21.

In 1998 she also ended her professional career. In September 2002 she entered again at an ITF tournament; after her failure in the women's doubles in round one of the qualification, she left it at that.
