Patricia Hy-Boulais (* 22. August 1965 when Patricia Hy in Phnom Penh , Cambodia ) is a former Canadian tennis player .

Career

Patricia Hy was born in Cambodia and moved to Hong Kong with her family at the age of six .

In 1983 she won the Wimbledon junior doubles title with Patty Fendick . She played for the Hong Kong Fed Cup team from 1981 to 1987 and, after taking Canadian citizenship in 1991, for the Canadian team until 1998 . In 1992 and 1996 she also represented Canada at the Olympic Games . In singles she reached the second round in 1992 and 1996 , while in doubles in 1992 she was eliminated in the second round and in 1996 she even made it to the quarter-finals.

She achieved her greatest successes in Grand Slam tournaments with her entry into the quarter-finals of the US Open in 1992 and with her participation in the semi-finals in 1987 in the double competition of the Australian Open .

In 2004 she was inducted into the Canadian Tennis Hall of Fame .

Personal

In 1994 she married Yves Boulais, who later became Alison Riske's coach . Since then she has competed under the name Patricia Hy-Boulais.

Her daughter Isabelle Boulais is also a professional tennis player.
