The right-hander won three singles and two doubles titles on the WTA Tour between 1986 and 1999 . At ITF level, she finished a tournament twice in singles and five times as the winner. She achieved her best result in Grand Slam tournaments in 1988 at the Australian Open and in 1991 at the US Open , when she was able to advance to the round of 16. Between 1987 and 1997 she took part in eleven French Open and the US Open. In Wimbledon and the Australian Open, she started nine and eight times respectively during this period.
For the Slovak Fed Cup team , she played 27 games from 1988 to 2007. In this team competition, Zrubáková achieved 15 wins out of three defeats in singles, four wins in doubles and five defeats. She also took part in the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992 and in Atlanta in 1996 for Slovakia. In 1996 she reached the second round in singles, in which she was defeated by Conchita Martínez . In doubles she failed in 1996 at the side of Karina Habšudová and in 1992 in the individual competition in the first round.
Zrubáková reached her highest position in the tennis world rankings on October 21, 1991 with 22nd place in the singles. In the double ranking she was listed on April 5, 1993 in 38th place. In her professional career, she earned a total of 1,073,889 US dollars in prize money.
