Carling Bassett-Seguso (* 9. October 1967 as Carling Bassett in Toronto ) is a former Canadian tennis player .

Career

In the course of her tennis career she won two single and two double tournaments on the WTA Tour . From 1982 to 1987 she played 21 games for the Canadian Fed Cup team , of which she won 12. In addition, she tried her hand as a model and actress. In 1982 she starred in the tennis film Spring Fever on the side of Susan Anton and Jessica Walter .

In 1988 she took part in the Summer Olympics in Seoul . There she was eliminated in singles in the first round and in doubles in the quarterfinals.

In 2001 she was inducted into the Hall of Fame for Canadian Sports .

Personal

On September 26, 1987, she married the American tennis player Robert Seguso . You have five children. In a documentary, Bassett-Seguso spoke openly about her bulimic disease.
