The Lofty Promenade is an Antarctic glacier run in the eastern part of the Antarctic Ross Island . It is flanked by the southern sections of the Kyle Hills and the Guardrail Ridge and flows in an east-southeast direction from Mount Terror at an altitude of 2,600 m to the Allen Rocks 1,400 m lower . Its comparatively flat glacier surface enables an unhindered ascent from the area around Cape Crozier to Mount Terror.
In 2000, the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names gave it its descriptive name based on an elevated walkway .
