Jasmina Tinjić (born February 27, 1991 in Tuzla ) is a former Bosnian tennis player .

Career

Tinjić started playing tennis at the age of five and prefers grass courts. She mainly plays tournaments at the ITF Women's Circuit , where she has won four singles and 12 doubles titles so far.

She played her first professional tournament at the age of 15 in June 2006 in Zagreb . In October 2006 she reached the semi-finals of the $ 10,000 ITF tournament in Dubrovnik as a qualifier , where she was defeated by Karolina Jovanović in three sets with 6: 2, 3: 6 and 4: 6. On April 2, 2007, she was listed in the individual world rankings for the first time and was able to play among the top 600 in the world in her first year as a professional.

At the Australian Open in 2008 she competed in junior singles , where she reached the quarter-finals. She was defeated there by the later finalist Jessica Moore with 4: 6 and 0: 6. In the same year she was in the final of the $ 25,000 tournament in Grado , where she was defeated by Patricia Mayr 4: 6 and 6: 7 1 .

In March 2010 she won her first ITF tournament in doubles in Amiens, France . In the same year she received a wildcard for qualifying for the İstanbul Cup , her first tournament on the WTA Tour , where she lost to Julia Schruff 2-6 and 3-6 after beating Tatiana Poutchek in the second round of qualification .

In 2011 she qualified for the BMW Malaysia Open in WTA Kuala Lumpur , where she was eliminated in the second round of qualification. In the same year she started in other tournaments on the WTA Tour , but was eliminated in the first round of qualification at the Brussels Open as well as the e-Boks Sony Ericsson Open in Copenhagen , the Generali Ladies Linz and BGL BNP Paribas Luxembourg Open out. In Budapest and Baku she reached the second round of qualification.

In 2013 she reached the main field as a qualifier at the WTA tournament in Bad Gastein , where she clearly lost 6-0 and 6-0 against Yvonne Meusburger in the first round of the main field . At the US Open , she competed in the women's singles qualification , where she was also defeated in the first round against Laura Siegemund in three sets 7: 6 5 , 4: 6 and 6: 7 5 .

She achieved her best world ranking position in singles with rank 236 on September 23, 2013, her best position also with rank 236 in doubles on May 29, 2017.

Tinjić played in the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Fed Cup team from 2011 to 2015 , where she has been victorious 14 times in 23 matches so far, eight times in singles and six times in doubles.

Tinjić played her last professional tournament in January 2018. Since the end of 2018 she is no longer in the world rankings.
