Yana Morderger (born March 7, 1997 in Kiev , Ukraine ) is a German tennis player . She is the twin sister of Tayisiya , who also plays tennis professionally.

Career

Morderger began playing tennis at the age of six. She mainly plays in ITF Women's Circuit tournaments .

The twin sisters Morderger were considered to be great young talents at a young age and at the age of twelve they topped the rankings of the Westphalian Tennis Association and later also the German rankings of young people.

Morderger played her first professional tournament in April 2011 in Tessenderlo , Belgium , where she won her opening match against Alina Wessel 6: 4 and 6: 1 before losing to Bibiane Weijers 2: 6 and 1: 6 in the second qualifying round . At the Reinert Open 2013 she made it into the main field through qualification, where she lost 4-6 and 4-6 to Anna Zaja in the first round . Also at the ITF Women's Circuit UBS Thurgau 2014 in Kreuzlingen she was eliminated after successfully qualifying in the first round, this time 4-6 and 2-6 against Ekaterina Alexandrova .

On the WTA Tour Morderger received both for qualifying for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in 2014 and for the qualification for the 2014 Nürnberger Versicherungscup a wildcard , but failed each in their opening match.

At the subsequent Schönbusch Open 2014 she failed again after qualifying in the first round of the main draw 6: 3, 5: 7 and 4: 6 to Milana Špremo . At the ITF Women's Circuit UBS Thurgau 2015 , she started with her twin sister, but again they did not get past the first round. Yana Morderger achieved her greatest success so far in July 2015 at the $ 25,000 tournament in Denain, France , when she made it into the round of 16, which she lost 6-1 and 6-1 to Florencia Molinero .

In 2016 she and her sister were defeated by Georgina García Pérez and Polina Leikina in the first round 6: 3, 4: 6 and [9:11] at the Altenkirchen Ladies Open 2016 . At the Bredeney Ladies Open 2016 she was defeated in the first round of the main field to Anna Zaja with 2: 6 and 2: 6.

In 2012 with the U16 juniors and 2013 with the U18 juniors, she was German champion in singles and with her twin sister in doubles.

In 2014 and 2015 she won the Westphalian tennis championships.

TV projects

In 2019 she took part as a candidate in the documentary soap Shopping Queen . In 2020, she and her twin sister Tayisiya took part in the reality format Fight of Reality Stars - Shipwreck on Dream Beach .

Private

Father Vitali is a qualified tennis trainer, mother Julia has a degree in business administration.
