After a year he was introduced as the successor to Zdeněk Zeman at Delfino Pescara in 1936 and should create relegation there after having been promoted to Serie A a year earlier . However, on November 18, 2012, Stroppa announced his resignation as coach of Delfini , who had to return to Serie B at the end of the season .
At the beginning of the 2013/14 season , Spezia Calcio Stroppa signed as a new coach, but left the club again after a short time. After another engagement with FC Südtirol, he took over Foggia Calcio in 2016 and promoted the team to Serie B.
